Drai Nur waterfall in Buon Kuop, Dray Sap commune, Krong Ana district is one of the most majestic waterfalls in the Central Highlands, with a width of about 250m in the dry season and over 300m in the rainy season, the highest point is nearly 30m and the lowest point is 15m, stretching from East to West. In Ede language: Drai means Waterfall, Nur (abbreviated from Anur) means Dui. Drai Nur means Waterfall.

The story goes that: At that time, in Buon Kuop, there was a rich and powerful chief, whose house was so long that the elephant would go away for a day, and his wealth was immeasurable: gong jars, ivory, rhino horns,... filled with houses inside, packed with houses outside, slaves, people coming in and out, bustling like termites and ants.

The chief has the most beautiful girl in the area. Every time she went to the stream, the stream seemed to stop flowing. When she entered the forest, the wild birds also stopped flying, perched on the branches and looked at her. Flowers are not as beautiful as her smile and lips. Every time she sang, birds and beasts from all over the world flocked to the courtyard to stand silently to listen to her singing. The chiefs of the East trade, the West village, the upper village, and the lower village one by one came to propose, but not a single guy made her agree. She only felt sorry for a poor boy in the village. He is an industrious, industrious person, always kind to everyone, honest and loved by everyone. The chief's daughter and the poor boy exchanged rings and promised to become husband and wife someday.

When he learned of his daughter's love affair, the village chief Kuop prevented her and decided to marry her to the son of the richest and most powerful chief in the region. She begged her father to accept her love and allow her to marry the boy. But her father resolutely prevented it, and even set a wedding date for her with the son of the rich and powerful chief. He also locked her in a dark, cramped room to scare her into obeying. Taking advantage of not being careful, she sneaked out to the river near the village - where she and her lover used to date, vowing to spend a lifetime together. Take one last look at familiar scenes, try to engrave the boy's silhouette for the last time in your mind, then plunge into the fast flowing water to stay faithful to your lover.

Hearing the bad news, the young man quickly ran to the riverbank, jumped into the water to find his lover, he searched from morning to night, from night to day without finding. He dug the soil and rock in the riverbed to find his lover's body, dug forever, dig forever. Dig until the ten fingers are worn out, the whole body is bleeding, exhausted, exhausted. He fell down, stopped breathing and his soul turned into a gold nugget, day and night, for years, he still worked hard digging soil and rock in the river bed to find his lover.

The riverbed, where the young man had dug, sank to a depth of several tens of meters, forming a large waterfall, the water falling with a rumbling sound like his cry. He even dug deep into the cliff of the waterfall to create a very wide and deep cave but still could not find the body of his lover.

Later, the villagers called the name of the waterfall that the boy dug was Drai Nur waterfall (Con Dui waterfall) to tell forever the story of the faithful and devoted love of the chief's daughter and the poor boy to his descendants forever. memorize.

There is another story that says: Once upon a time, in a certain village, there was a daughter who was orphaned by both parents. She lived a very miserable and poor life, every day she had to go to the forest to dig up roots, pick bamboo shoots, and pick mushrooms. and fruit to live.

This land is ruled by the powerful King Thuy, who has a prince named Anur, who often travels to the places ruled by his father. Once, while walking, the prince accidentally saw an orphan girl digging in the forest, he immediately asked: "What are you doing?". The girl looked up at him with surprised and confused eyes, and then she lowered her face and did not dare to answer because she was too embarrassed, because her face, face, and limbs were all covered with mud, her clothes were tattered, and her skirts were empty. Out of the skirt, there was only enough fabric left to cover the front and back. And the boy was wearing a red-striped loincloth, his shirt with many buttons on his chest looked so colorful and majestic.

Seeing the silence of the girl, the prince continued: Don't be afraid, my name is Anur, I just want to get to know you, please take me home, I want a place to rest because I am very tired. So the girl went first, the prince quietly followed. When he got to her house, the prince found it was just a ramshackle hut that could only block the sun, not the rain. Maybe just a heavy rain, strong wind, this hut will be swept away.

Please cook for me, I'm hungry," said the Prince.
The girl replied:

There's no rice in my house, sir.
The Prince continued:

Take the rice from the dried gourd hanging on the wall.
The girl picked up the dried gourd and shook it gently and heard the crash. She opened the lid, and indeed there was rice, the rice grains were still white and fragrant, so she cooked rice for the prince to eat. After eating, he said again:

I am thirsty, please give me a glass of wine.
There's not a drop of wine in my house,' said the girl.
Please go to the neighbor's house and ask.
Hearing the prince say that, the girl quietly passed
by the neighbor's house even though she knew that they had never lent her anything, even the smallest, because they were stingy, stingy, and afraid. she couldn't pay, let alone ask for a glass of wine.

But isn't it strange! The owner of the house came to the door to welcome her, they even smiled and invited her into the house. Before he could say anything, the neighbor brought out a lot of precious wine bottles and said: "Take home and drink, take as much as you like".

She only asked for a small bottle of wine enough for two people to drink. After eating and drinking, the two happily talked, the girl felt more confident and open to the strange man, the prince fell in love with her gentleness and kindness. When the sun went down the mountain, the bird flew back to the nest, and Prince Anur said goodbye to the girl to return to the Aquarium.

About the Aquarium, Prince Anur day and night only missed the girl, didn't want to laugh, talk and play with everyone anymore. He thought a lot before he went to his father to ask his father to let him return to the earth to marry her. King Thuy determined to prevent but Prince Anur decided to give up everything to follow the call of his heart.

Then the prince and the poor orphan girl became husband and wife. Anur goes to the forest every day to hunt, the girl still breaks bamboo shoots to eat, their lives are always filled with laughter. Many seasons have passed and the moon has passed, and their hair is white, and the prince said to his wife:

- Lady! I was originally the son of King Thuy, so I can't die on this earth, I have to go back to the Aquarium, I don't want to leave her but it's time for me to go home.

His wife could only cry without saying a word. Before parting, the prince took out star fruit seeds from his pocket and said to his wife:

- I have to go, on the way I will sprinkle these star fruit seeds. If you want to find me in the future, follow the star fruit trees, it will guide you to find me.

After the prince left, his wife immediately followed, went on and on, and on and on, she finally saw the last star fruit tree growing in the heart of a large waterfall, the water was rushing and flowing. She saw her husband walking into the cliff in the middle of the waterfall, which suddenly opened up into a large cave. Seeing this, his wife cried out:

- Please let me go with you! I want to be with him forever.

Then she jumped into the waterfall and was robbed of her soul by the swirling currents. Shocked, the prince only had time to retrieve his wife's body before the current could swallow her and lay her body on a large stone in the cave. The prince mourned for his wife a lot, cried until his tears dried up, his strength was exhausted and he took his last breath. When the prince died, his soul turned into a golden goose that stayed in the cave with his wife's body and did not return to the Aquarium.

Later, people called the waterfall where the prince died and turned into a golden gourd called Drai Nur (Dai Nur waterfall) and the name Drai Nur is still called to this day.

With its wild and majestic beauty, on January 26, 2011, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ranked Drai Nur waterfall as a National Landscape Monument.
